Objectives:
1. Students will analyze the differences between magic and Christianity.
2. Students will understand the roots of the growth of the gospel in Ethiopia.
3. Students will compare the Old Testament prohibitions on food with what the NT teaches.
4. Students will list basic key information on the geography of significant early church cities.
Monday
Dorothy’s Conversion Story:
Difference between magic and Christianity-create list in groups and then make a complete list as a class.
Discussion of Simon and magic.
Summarize the role of magic/sorcery Acts 13:4-12 and 19:13-20
Tuesday
20 Questions. A word from what we have studied previously in Acts.
Study of the gospel reaching Ethiopia. Brief history on Christianity in Ethiopia.
Acts 9: 1-22.
Wednesday
Opener: What’s the most disgusting thing you have eaten/
Read and summarize Acts 10.
Read Leviticus 11. Which foods were permitted? Which were not?
Foods mentioned in the gospels.
Thursday
1. Continuation of Act 10.
2. Analysis of key points in Acts 10.
Friday
Opener: What are the following cities known for: NYC, Los Angeles, Seoul, Tokyo, Paris, London, Rome, Singapore, New Delhi, Aspen.
Key cities in Acts 11.
T.V. Commercial of following God with all of one’s hearts.
