Objectives:
1. Students will be able to explain how the Greek culture influenced the Jewish world.
2. Students will see how the early church handled conflict.
3. Students will demonstrate their understanding of Acts 1-5 through a test.
4. Students will analyze persecution and the effects thereof.
5. Students will develop a biblical worldview toward the issue of magic.
Everyday, you will have time to reflect on Psalm 139 at the beginning of class.
September 10, Monday
Opener: Give one reason why Christians can be joyful when they are persecuted.
Turn in Homework.
Tell someone one incident when you felt overlooked or cheated.
Questions on Acts 6.
Discussion of Greek influence on Jews.
September 11, Tuesday
Test: Acts 1-5
September 12, Wednesday
Opener: Have you, a close friend, or someone in your immediate family ever been persecuted for your faith?
Inductive Bible Study on Acts 7.
September 13, Thursday
1. Is it OK to flee from persecution?
2. Acts 7:54-8:3
September 14, Friday
How should Christian’s view magic? Is it OK? Is some OK but not all? If so, what magic is OK and what is not?
Discussion of Chapter 8. Analyze magic from a Christian worldview.
